Burns Supper & Ceilidh 25 January 2019 (updated 11 January 2019)
I know many of you already have your tickets for the Burns Supper and Ceilidh, 6.30 pm, 25 January 2019, at the Dunedin Town Hall, but in case anyone is still undecided, tickets are still available at the Scottish Shop, 17 George St, Dunedin, phone 03-477-9965, at $75 a person. The supper will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Otago.
The Scottish Fiddle orchestra will commence playing at 6 pm. The prizes for the Robert Burns Poetry competition will be presented at the Dunedin City Library at 5 pm.
The prize-giving will be held in the Dunningham Suite on the 4th Floor of City Library from 5pm-6pm on Friday 25th January 2019, and Kay Mercer, Dunedin City Library, would like to extend a warm invitation to you all to join us there. The plan for the programme is that Dr Royden Somerville will speak on behalf of the Burns Club and give a brief outline of the history of the competition and the medals. Representatives of the Dunedin-Edinburgh Sister City Society, The Otago Scottish Heritage Council and the Dunedin Public Libraries Association will present the winners with their prizes.
